| David Z,
Thanks for having me! After a drive to McLean from upper MoCo, I won't be needing a seat! Will bring stems. What else?

| Purplehaze, stems will do. If your wine needs a decanter, I would suggest bringing that as well! Welcome to the DC Cru.

| PurpleHaze,
It is great to see a WS member making the trek over here to join the offlines! This is why I became a bi-site geek.
To the rest of you, for the offlines that have lots of seating available (ie. you're heading to a rather large restaurant) you should deffinitely re-post on WS.
As for me, I've nearly become the TJ of the West, having flaked on pyang's big events and the BAWE more times than I've actually gone

| DavidZ,
I will definitely be there. The wife has said I can come solo. Please send me a PM with your address so I can figure out how to get there from MoCo. Driving to/in Northern VA is not my favorite thing to do, but for this cru, I'll make the effort. I'll bring stems and a '93 Signorello.

| Oh yes, an address would be good. PM me too, please!
Not sure what I will be bringing. I guess it depends on what I have at the time and what I think'll be drinking well. And what shows up for me at T-Rep's Wine Storage Facility for me. | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com

| David Z,
Thanks. Will also need your address, if you please. I'll figure out the PM thing somehow.
Thinking of bringing a 1999 Sterling Reserve. Had one a few months ago and it was quite tasty.
whiner,
This seems to be where the action is for DC area offlines, so I took the plunge. Sorry I waited until you headed out to the left coast to get going on this. Hope to run into you one of these days.

| raybanz,
It isn't the driving there, it's the drive back that gets me. Besides, driving from Baltimore is easy, straight shot down 95 or the PArkway. NVA gets confusing.

| | Davidz, Sorry but I'm going to have to miss this one. Too much family and graduations going on this month. Bummed to miss the chance to drink some old cabs but there are just not enough hours in the day. Very true DW. I am about 1 hour to downtown DC. Virginia is a whole different mess. | | | |

| David Z,
Got the PM. Thanks! I was puzzled by this comment in your first post to this thread:

I may even pull out some old chestnuts like the '85 BV Private Reserve, '85 William Hill and the '85 Groth to show what not to do when aging California Cabs.

Thanks for the invite to your place. But we will not be in town (Peru and then Texas for work and family). Have a great time.

He probably means that they are passed on, deceased, dead, pushing up daisies, devoid of life, belly up, checked out, extinct, expired, offed, perished, or otherwise just Plonk by now. | | "It's better to have your enemies inside the tent pissing out, then outside the tent pissing in." -- Lyndon Johnson

| Hello DC Crew,
I was the guy you invited to your table at Corduroy's. Thank you very much for your generousity. My 2 cases of the Prima arrived yesterday, and I have to say it is a great tempranillo. Also, I purchase a six pack of the Match and Neal Vineyards and look forward to an occasion to crack them. Thanks again for sharing. I am looking forward to hooking up with a crew from Southern California.

| | Purplehaze, I probably never should have purchased the BV. I loved the 70 and 74 BV's and I thought that the '85 would be great as well. The last time I tried it there was not much there (perhaps there never was). I worry that the Groth will not show well either. The William Hill was actually drinking pretty well the last few times that I have had a bottle. I have higher hopes for the Spottswoode and the Monte Bello. We will try them and see what we think! | | | |

| Fred/David Z,
Thanks for the clarification(s). I know 1985 was a wondeful year for most California Cabs, and wasn't sure how many were holding up at this point. It'll be interesting to see how your "chestnuts" are doing. I think it's very cool that you're pulling them out in any event! Being a bit newer to fine wines than most of you. my experience with older wines is still quite limited.
