| I preface this by saying that it was a great honor having STW and family up to our home this weekend for some food, wine, and company.
I had been looking forward to this dinner for a while now and the wines we had lined up. I prepared dinner which consisted of:
Roasted Garlic wild grain rice Roasted Red peppers stuffed with marinated Mozzerella Marinated grilled whole beef Tenderloin Assorted cheeses served prior Chocolate Mocha creme cake for dessert
The wines for the evening are listed below and TN's will be posted in the appropriate TN sections.
1990 Dalla Valle Cabernet Sauvignon (Brought by STW)Ranked 2nd overall 1992 La Jota 11th Anniversary HM Cabernet Ranked 1st overall tied 1992 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (Jointly purchased)Ranked 1st overall tied 1999 Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon ranked 3rd overall
The company, food, and wine were all fantastic. We finished the evening with some Montechristo #2 Cigars, a nice treat brought by STW which were really good in the crisp Upstate NY outside air.

| WOW. Looking good, guys. Looking good. Waiting for TNsssss.
...Did Not know that you guys are into Cigars....
If you guys enjoy Cubans??? Let me know. Have GOOD connections with those. I do NOT smoke, but know some BIG Time Collectors. BIG TIME (as big as our Cellars). Give me the name(s), I can probably get it for you. Or, try...
...Know a guy that gets Cigars that are ONLY made for Mr. Fidel Castro, himself. Yes, sir.
...And, my brother also has a good size Humodor (spelling???), & connections.
Unfortunately (or fortunately), I do NOT smoke @ all.

| Interesting that the wines tied for first place both came from Howell Mtn. from the same year.
Did you post TN's in the appropriate section? Actually, I'd probably answer my own question if I bothered to look there.

| What a sensational evening we had. If you ever get the chance to hook up with Seek1 (and family) for an event, you should consider yourself lucky.
The food was great - my highlights were the havarti cheese, the stuffed red peppers and the marinated steak. Delicious!
As noted in the TN section, my order of preference was:
1) '92 La Jota 2) '92 Dunn HM 3) '90 Dalla Valle 4) '99 Quilceda Creek
All in all, a perfect evening.
Thanks again amigo! | | | |
