| Tasted 7/17/04 at the DC Crü event at The Caucus Room Nice stems (some unknown germanic sounding name producer) Just basic notes as we were having too much fun
Yes, yes, I know I said I wouldn't touch another for a year or two, but I went ahead and did it again anyway. The agony of having a small cellar I suppose.
Restrained, still but had great notes of caramelized licorice, dark fruits and brown sugar. Slight mustiness to it evolved as I kept some in the glass for a while, and this was probably after a good 90 minutes or more in the decanter. I’d wait some more to open another one of these. You’d think I’d learn to wait by now. <sigh> Still, this was a very good wine and, when it breaks out of its sleepy cocoon in a few years, it will be spectacular once more.
Presently still decent, better than the last time I had this, but it is a sleeping baby compared to its prior ranbunctious youthfulness. I won't touch it again for AT LEAST A YEAR. This time I mean it.
Presently worth 90 points, but it has a fine pedigree that will reward those who are patient. | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com |

| wiml... thanks for the guideline. I also have 6 left. My last bottle seemed a bit closed. Maybe the infamous 'dumb' phase.... I don't know. I entered that phase years ago and never came out!!! | | | |

| | lcc, do you remember at last year's Great Smokehouse dinner that after dinner, tt brought a wine he had just opened and poured us a taste blind? My first words to him were, "I hope this isn't the Numanthia." Of course it had been opened for only 15 minutes, but it was hard as nails. | | | |

If only I had a bigger cellar to 'lose' these bottles in. I need to buy more bottles of my other wines. I hate drinking the last or only bottle of something hence my propensity to DRAB something when I really don't want to. D'oh! | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| I bought 14 of these and have 6 left. 2 of them I gave away as gifts. The wine drank so well on release that I don't feel that any of them were wasted.

| | I bought 16 bottles of this on release and have a six-pack in the wood case left. I only really feel like I wasted one bottle. It was decanted for over 10 hours and that extraneous aeration really killed it. | | | |
