| Keep holding these - the payoff just may be great.
- 2000 Bodega Numanthia Termes Toro Numanthia - Spain, Castilla y León, Toro (9/2/2006)
Checking in on this wine after a few years finds it barely into secondary flavors with the tannins still prominent. With food the nuances of the wine stood out and it was a fine drink. [~$40 on release; Decanted two hours in advance and needed it] (92 pts.)

| | Thanks for the update. I've still got a 6-pack and was beginning to wonder. | | | |

Tasted June 16, 2007. Opened and served immediately. Purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Big nose of Kirsch, melted black licorice and dark cocoa. Flavors of black licorice and black currants. Medium acidity, medium tannins, medium to full bodied. Drink with a minimum of an hour in the decanter or continue to hold. (91 pts.) | | Joe ----- Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone.

| | I agree with continuing to hold, wineismylife. I had in Feb/March or something like that. I had it @ 92/92+ that night. And, my note in my file is to hold. Or, serious decanting time (1+ hour)... | | | |

| Based on WIML's reco I decanted this for one hour. And it was good about 92 pts. Hubby's blind guess was Aussie Shiraz. After it opened up post-decant it was a ringer for the 2001 MP Integrity.
- 2000 Bodega Numanthia Termes Toro Numanthia - Spain, Castilla y León, Toro (7/6/2007)
Dark purple in color with a ruby rim; This wine had heavy blackberry, anise and vanilla aromas with kirsch, blueberry and espresso flavors. The finish was very long and aromatic and picked up an herbal note maybe fresh thyme? and dark chocolate. Overall the wine was balanced and medium-full bodied. I was encouraged by the improvement and integration in this bottle. [Decanted one hour in advance and needed it; 14.5% stated alcohol but it's probably higher than that] (92 pts.)

| The last time I opened this wine, about a month ago, it was a hollow wine. The oak was all that was left with a bit of blackberry fruit. It was at a restaurant where I had the bottle decanted for about 40 minutes before opening. I'm hoping it was just an off bottle as I have 3 or 4 more of these left. jb | | | |

| | That would be a bad direction for this wine considering how many of us are holding quantities of it. | | | |

| | I am sitting on two as well. As I recall, this was one of the first wines people were gushing about on this website. | | | |

| A lot of us are very familiar with this wine. Again, Parker rated it a 93, & although I’ve had a few of these over the year, with my last note in Winter 06 to hold & a 92+, last night for the 1st time it did reach the 93 points. This is coming along nicely & I am glad I’ve cellaring these all this time. I gave it about an hour in the decanter & then it was singing beautifully. No rush, but with some air time this should do well now. At least the bottle last night did in fact!
P.S.: Too damn bad these went up in price so much. I used to pay in the $30s/$40s for these. My last vintage was the 05. I paid $50 for the 05. I saw some selling with the big rating as much as $70/$80 in retail stores.

| | I actually robbed the cradle on a 2005 recently at a restaurant. It was embryonic, but the pieces were there for a good wine. My last 2000 bit the dust last year. | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| Thomas, I still have a couple of the 2000s left. Maybe we will have to try one at an offline soon. | | | |
