2001 Cinco Liberalco I have no idea if I have the name of this wine correct because I can't find a thing about it on the Internet anywhere. This was a gift to a local by a Spanish client. Tasted June 11, 2008 at an offline Opened and served immediately. Dark purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Tight nose, a bit closed, with some florals and dustiness. Flavors of black cherries with a bit of an earthy finish. Vibrant acidity, firm tannins, full bodied. I'd hold...seems a bit closed at the moment.

I had one of these and opened it just over one year ago - it was extremely tight/closed - reminded me of a young Lafite - lots of potential. I wished that I had cellared it longer. I could imagine this being a very great wine someday. I think it is Liberalo - but not certain - it was cursive like in red on the bottle as I recall and hard to read. I picked it up from Premier Cru I think as part of a Spanish package deal of recommended wines. I think Parker? gave it a 96 rating!
