Occasionally I try a very low-priced wine that I don't pour out. I have a cold so I wanted something uncomplicated and decent with my pizza.
This one was nice after the horsiness went away. The winemaker is Juanjo Galcera. Rated 87 pts by Josh Raynolds (in Tanzer's IWC). - 2006 Vinos Sin-Ley Terra Alta G3 - Spain, Catalunya, Tarragona, Terra Alta (11/30/2007)
The first whiff of this wine after being poured was pure horse fur. Luckily this quickly blew off after a short decant. This was a well-constructed wine of 100% Grenache with licorice and smoke flavors along with dark fruit. A good pizza wine. The downside might be the brett - if there is bottle variation they could be gross. [Very well-priced at $10; A possible re-purchase] (87 pts.)
