I really wonder about Parker's tastes when I read the review on this wine.  He gave it 96 points and to be fair Josh Raynolds of the IWC gave it 94 points.  But absolute BLEEECCCH from me.

Dark cloudy purple in color; Tasted blind I thought it was a Cali Central coast Syrah. One person in the group proclaimed "Spanish Grenache" and I thought they were joking. This was a poor example of Grenache - no varietal typicity. Otherwise as a wine it was a mishmash of blueberry, vanilla and coconut aromas and flavors with a layer of oak on top of that. Zero integration with otherworldly extraction. Not to my tastes (an understatement...). (85 pts.)

The "Parker" barrels must have been pretty good.
