AALTO 2000 13,8% $21,35

The most highly sough-after wine of last year has made a superb comeback. This may (or may not) be better than the 99 but in its own right is a great bottle of wine. Decanted in a duck, tasted from Spiegelau Authentis, this was a VERY SHORT "you-may-wait-if-you-wish-but-pass-that-decanter-dude" session with Nikola and whoever passed by. Blue (yes) ripe fruit in the nose confirmed in the palate, with roasted coffee and cocoa to top the cocktail. Still wanting some bottle in the mouth but already developed beyond expectation in the nose (last year the 99 arrived in July). Excellent oak management, bargain-priced, if only the PS remained at 99 prices... 93+

Yes, by all means do your best to track this down. Eno had luck with the 99 but because he moved real quick. It's imported by Eric Solomon and carried by Polaner Selections in NY and NJ, I believe. Take a peep here:
