2002 Bodegas Alejandro Fernandez La Mancha El Vinculo - Spain, Castilla-La Mancha, La Mancha (6/19/2006)
WIML90,PURPLE91,NOWA,WS89,IWC88

Tasted June 19, 2006 at home. Opened and served immediately in a Spiegelau Authentis Magnum glass. Dark purple color in the glass, slightly opaque. Nose started off a little closed at first but with a little time in the glass showed some dark chocolate, blackberries, black licorice and a little spiceiness towards the end. Flavors of black cherries, blackberries and some bitters. Thought I got a little coffee on some secondary flavors as well. Integrated tannins with good acidity. Should drink fine over the next couple of years. Might even age nicely for 5+ years. Based on the local retail price of $21.24 I’d say the value here is recommended. Tasted twice in the past 2 days with consistent notes. (90 pts.)
