Tasted June 17, 2006 at a retail tasting. Opened and served immediately in a Riedel Vinum Cabernet Sauvignon glass. Dark purple, almost crimson color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of tobacco, blackberries and some “perfume” or other floral like component. Flavors of blackberries, black cherries and black licorice. Powedery tannins with fresh to crips acidity. Drink over the short term with a little time in decanter to help jump start this wine. Based on the local retail price of $40.79 I’d say the value here is bordering on agreeable. (90 pts.) | |
