2001 Bodegas Muga Rioja Torre Muga - Spain, La Rioja, Rioja (6/17/2006)
WIML93,PURPLE93,WA95,WS90

Tasted June 17, 2006 at a retail tasting. Opened and served immediately in a Riedel Vinum Cabernet Sauvignon glass. Dark purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of blackberries, plum, anise, cassis and a touch of leather. Flavors of black licorice, black berries, black cherries and plums. Firm tannins with fresh acidity. Can be drank now with a minimum of an hour in the decanter but I’d recommend holding for 3-4 years. Should drink well for a decade, maybe more. Based on the local retail price of $64.59 I’d say the value here is recommended. Second tasting of this wine within the past 30 days with consistent notes. (93 pts.)

Nice. We picked up one of these earlier in the year and were planning on holding it for a few years.
