| 2001 Bodegas Muga Rioja Torre Muga - Spain, La Rioja, Rioja (6/17/2006) WIML93,PURPLE93,WA95,WS90
Tasted June 17, 2006 at a retail tasting. Opened and served immediately in a Riedel Vinum Cabernet Sauvignon glass. Dark purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of blackberries, plum, anise, cassis and a touch of leather. Flavors of black licorice, black berries, black cherries and plums. Firm tannins with fresh acidity. Can be drank now with a minimum of an hour in the decanter but I’d recommend holding for 3-4 years. Should drink well for a decade, maybe more. Based on the local retail price of $64.59 I’d say the value here is recommended. Second tasting of this wine within the past 30 days with consistent notes. | | Nice. We picked up one of these earlier in the year and were planning on holding it for a few years. | | | |
