2002 Bodegas Alejandro Fernandez La Mancha El Vinculo - Spain, Castilla-La Mancha, La Mancha (6/17/2006) WIML90,PURPLE90,NOWA,WS89,IWC88 Tasted June 17, 2006 at a retail tasting. Opened and served immediately in a Riedel Vinum Cabernet Sauvignon glass. Dark garnet color to purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of leather, dark chocolate, mixed dark berries and spice box. Flavors of red cherries, red berries and a little earthiness on the finish. Integrated tannins with light to medium acidity. Drink over the next couple of years. Based on the local retail price of $21.24 I’d say the value here is recommended. (90 pts.)

2002 Bodegas Alejandro Fernandez La Mancha El Vinculo - Spain, Castilla-La Mancha, La Mancha (4/25/2007) WIML89,PURPLE88,NOWA,WS89 Tasted April 25, 2007 at home. Opened and served immediately in a Spiegelau Authentis Magnum glass. Purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of black berries, melted black licorice and a little white pepper. Flavors of black berries, black cherries, black currants and a little pepper on the finish. Light to medium acidity, firm tannins, medium body. Drink now with a decant, should hold a 3+ years. Tasted twice with consistent notes. (89 pts.)
