| The reference to Eric is a review Eric LeVine posted in CellarTracker! on this wine. Super tasty wine.
- 2001 Alvaro Palacios Priorat Finca Dofi - Spain, Catalunya, Priorat (12/11/2005)
I agree with Eric's note in that it took this wine about 30 minutes post-decant to start opening up. Mr. Winetex rated this at 89 at the beginning of the meal because it was flat and one-dimensional. After about 30 minutes it opened up and the slight kirsch flavors became penetrating black cherry and the minerals kicked in. After that the nose and finish came along. A very good wine that handled a challenging food match with ease. [~$55 at release; Drinking well now but will short-term hold; Decant at least an hour in advance] (92 pts.)

| | Great notes - I am a card-carrying Dofi-addict, and it is the Spanish wine that I have the most of. The 1998 still kicks my @ss everytime I have it. Great stuff. | | | |

| Yes, I just wish this was $20 less per bottle. It was expensive in our region. | | | |

| | Me too, but I think $55 for this wine is a fair price. What is it going for where you are at? | | | |

| | They were selling it for $65. I was able to get a discount. | | | |

| My last bottle. We liked this wine quite a bit.

About the same notes as the previous bottles. This wine had kind of a suave character. Not in your face with complexity and balance. [~$55 on release; Drinking well now and improved with a short decant] (92 pts.)

| | I think our bottle showed similarly to that of yours when we opened one recently. I think I had palate fatigue (or was it just fatigue due to the heat), so no real tasting notes, but it was showing nicely. | | | |

| yeah. well Jaimetown, we had tasted 5 different wines already at that point. i thought it was great. the left overs that you wouldn't take with you were really good too. same with the mauro. i poured a glass of the Dofi, a glass fo the mauro and a glass of the WS and sat at the dining room table with Juli on the 4th and enjoyed... | | | |
