Ruby red. Nose of maraschino cherry's and spicy plums. Medium bodied with a nice smooth feel and decent finish.

I've been buying lots of Spanish reds lately. Just popped this open tonight while making burgers. What a match!

I'm noticing a bit of raspberry happening and it looks more garnet than ruby to me. No matter....who can beat the price?

I actually helped create the blend on this wine. I hope you enjoy it.

I picked up a bottle at CostPlus World Market yesterday on a lark for $6.99. Was pleasantly surprised to see that RP had rated it 90. I had high hopes for a new QPR champ but, sadly, I was less than impressed. It had an unpleasantly tart and bitter finish last night when I opened it. I thought it might improve after some air time, but was no better today. Meh

Gary, sounds like you had some of the dreaded "bottle variation" that seems to plague some low end Spanish and Italian wines. I have had 3 bottles of this wine and have been well pleased with all of them. It got some decent praise over on EBOB as well.
Kudos to JB, a cuvee for the U.S. market?

For that price, perhaps I'll give it another shot...

When I was in Spain last February with Jorge Ordonez, we helped blend the components of the wine, picking differing lots. It was fun, but by the 35th sample, things started to run together a bit.
