| 2003 Bodegas Juan Gil Jumilla - Spain, Murcia, Jumilla (10/21/2005) A very enjoyable bottle...maybe the best one yet. Dark in the glass. Balanced on the palate with plush, red and black fruit flavors. The finish presents a bit of sweet and sour, puckering tannins and oak. Very nice (90 pts.) Posted from CellarTracker | | | |

| Thanks for the note, 6831. This is one of those QPRs that several local stores have piled to the season (I think).
I'll pick one up as a tester.

Just had this one last night too. I agree with 6831's note. The wine in the bottle got even better a night after it's opened. I'd get a case for everyday drinking. 89-91pts

| $13, retail.
Not decanted, but needs about 20-30 mins of air. But, don’t allow too much air time as not to over decant it.
Another very good Spanish wine for the price. I have to say that I’ve ran into many solid bottles of Spanish wines in the $8.00-$15.00 range. And, this is one of those value-type, solid bottles for the price that I paid. I would recommend trying a bottle or 2 if you are looking to purchase wine(s) in this price range.
I don’t see the 91 points that Parker gave it. And, I guess it did not make an impression on me as it did on Phyll & 6831. But, a pretty good bottle nonetheless.
Rating: 86 points, drink or hold.

| | Tbird, I am always amazed at how similar our tastes seem to run - I'm having a hard time keeping my hands off this stuff. | | | |

| Finished one of these last night. My impression the first night was that the wine seemed overly sweet and jammy an impression I often fine with these wines however the finish was a bit sharp with tannin. It was ok but not what I was in the mood for, I decided to vacu-vin and revisit in 24 hours. After 24 hours the wine was much better aromas of blueberries and vanilla followed by the same flavors with a touch of plum and carmel flavors. The finsish was much smoother on day 2. I would give this 85pts a decent QPR that a lot of people would probably enjoy at a party but open first.
LCC - This is to me is another example similar to our discussion on the Winners Tank. Decent wine for the money just don't understand the Parker rating.
