Priorat MORLANDA Blanc 1999 14% Alc. Garnacha Blanca (unoaked) $10

Young Sauternes in color, yellow with golden hints, fat, almost waxy. Impressive nose of white flowers and cooking herbs with caramel notes and a wonderful nuttiness in the "aftersmell." Low acidity plays sufficient. Friday it was a little shy from overchilling and no aeration. At half-bottle Nikola recorked it for me to take home.
Saturday lunch: the smaller stem does show a difference at first, but then it seems to be the perfect moment for the wine. Hell, I seem to be growing fonder of extreme whites: now it's either Riesling or Grenache Blanc?
Saturday dinner: low acidity shows a little too much, the nuttiness is still excellent but a hint of almond suggests oxidation.
Overall a pretty impressive display from another Rhonesque example from Priorat. 88
