This wine is a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot from Navarra, Spain. Aged in French oak, this wine is a current QPR fave of mine. The name of this wine is means (I am told), "six of blue and red" or 6 parts blue and one part red. It describes the color of the wine to a "T". It was an excellent match to my hamberger with red leaf lettuce, tomato and goat cheese.

There is a midnight colored core with magenta at the rim of this wine. Pronounced aromas of blackberry jam, cassis and some mint rush out of the glass. On the palate, this wine is rich and ripe, but medium bodied. Moderately tannic, with a solid core of black fruit, plums, cola and toasty oak (well integrated). The wine finishes with moderate length, but excellent balance with the acid, fruit and tannins each playing their role deftly. jb rating 89.

This wine reminds me of the Henry's Drive Cab but with more elegance. Lots of fruit, but not the alcohol poking through.

$17.50. And yes, we have some.

Which reminds me, I need to make sure that everyone out there knows that I am in the retail biz. If you want to take my tn's on items I carry with I a grain of salt, fair enough. All I can say is I like the wine a lot and I personally have bought 4 bottles so far and plan to buy more for mid-week beef pairing needs.

Well, congrats for the jump; that was new to me, though I knew you had something like that in mind. Do you have a link to more info?

It's not exactly ubiquitous, but it can be found:

Never tried it, though.
