i'm going with 1 of my restaurant-owning friends. is anyone else going that i should look for?

this is an industry tasting of what mr suckling claimed to be a 100 point vintage, i think . of course i could have the vintage wrong since my information has been sketchy at best, but i'm going to enjoy it immensely anyway.

It is the alleged 100 pointer. See you there Gus.

Hey, I was there.

Didn't see either one of you. I was out by 1:45 though. What did you think? I was a little upset that I drove down for it. They sold it to me as being a MUCH bigger tasting then it was. That restaurant couldn't hold much bigger though.

Bummed I didn't run into either one of you.

I got held up at work and didn't make it to the tasting until about 3.25 or so. 2001 Barbarescos and new wave blends did not do a heck of a lot for me. 2000 Barolos were very good but a) they were not worth buying unless you pony up for the top line vineyards/cuvee and b) Suckling's rating looks even more suspect to me now.

Frankly, I enjoyed the Kistler Hirsch vineyard Pinot and the Montevetrano I had with dinner (A16 just really works imo) better then virtually all of the wines that were presented. I am sorry I missed both of you.

Gus do you want me to give David your Sauternes?

I'm sorry too Gus. Should have transferred the case to David at the restaurant.
