| OK, who's coming with me? (JohnnyB I know you are in!) I may try to organize an off-line dinner this weekend (if TJ hasn't planned the Laboratorio dinner yet)... let me know if you out-of-towners are interested! The Tasting Saturday March 27th 2004 This year the Barrel Tasting will feature the highly acclaimed 2002 vintage. The tasting will be held in two identical two hour sessions. The first is from 1pm until 3pm and the second 7pm until 9pm. The cost is $125.00 per person. When you make your reservation please indicate which of the two sessions you wish to attend. The Watergate Hotel is located at 2650 Virginia Ave, Washington DC. The telephone number is 202 965 2300. The hotel has rooms held under MacArthur Beverages at a special rate of $165.00 per night for those of you wishing to stay. All proceeds from both the dinner and the tasting events will go to The Addy and Bruce Bassin Memorial Cancer Research Fund. www.bassins.comThe Wineries (very similar list to last year) Andrew Will Arns Barnett Cain Cellers Chateau Montelena Cornerstone David Ramey Diamond Creek Dunn Elyse Etude Fisher Fraizer Frog's Leap Girard Goldschmidt Harrison Hartwell Joseph Phelps Judd’s Hill La Jota Laurel Glen Larkin Liperita Long Michel Schlumberger Miner Family Moon Mountain Neal Family ( - hey whaddya know?) So.....if this is the second annual VC pilgrimage to the Barrel tasting....that means that Jaime and myself are the founding members. We need to pick a time to all purchase tickets for. Last year, Jaime and I attended the 1-3PM time slot which worked out fairly well. Let's hear some thoughts.
Also, Jaime if we don't meet up before then I will bring the 2001 Neal Family Magnum and we can swap if you would like. Might be interesting as I noticed they will be pouring the 2002 at this event. Hell maybe Mark Neal will sign them. It seems they swapped with Ramey who won't be there this year.....maybe after his RP 98 he doesn't need to pour this year.

Ramey is pouring... it's just listed under "David Ramey" so you missed it when you were scrolling down. And yeah, we've got to do the Neal Family swap soon.
I think it would be fun to have dinner that night, so my vote is for the 1-3pm tasting. That way we could rest our palates a little bit before going at it again for dinner. Other folks from the DC Cru could join us as well.

I will be at McArthur's, an it would be a honor to sign the bottles. I will also be interested in the dinner event.

| We'd most likely have dinner in DC, because you can't BYO in VA or MD.
Mark, will you be pouring your wine in both tasting sessions? If Marc comes, then we may have to have a late dinner since the evening session is 7-9pm.

| Jaime...if we do a dinner...and Mark is going to join us...does it then make sense to attend the 7-9 session and all leave somewhat together?

| I will be arriving Friday. My plan is to pour wine during both sessions. I do not want to alter your dinner plans. I could meet everyone after I'm done, if dinner is still going.

Yeah, that sounds like the way to go. Do you know of any good places that we can eat relatively late (start 9:30 or 10:00pm)? Marc, we'd still love to have dinner with you!

| i am still working on this guys. i would love to come down. that's a bit late for dinner though but i am sure we could work it out. the only problem is every wine dinner i've been to tends to last about 3-4 hours. | | | |

Now Ant, we all KNOW you have been known to hang out deep into the night at these wine dinners and after-time of wine dinners.... | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com
