What exactly is this? I haven't heard.

Its a charity benefit tasting of wine and food at the Ferry Building tonight. I don't think they have done a very good job of publicizing the event. Two levels of tickets. If one ponies up for the VIP tent then you get food from:

This is the first "A Ferry Tale Evening" so I don't know what dress is appropriate. The event is not cheap so take that into account. Slacks and a sport coat is what I will be wearing. I would think denim would be a risk.

Surely the tickets are a bargain, given that you get the chance to taste the "$700" wine, Pillar Rock. Too bad there's no Amuse Bouche for a Ridiculous Expectations drink-off.

As a new San Franciscan, I am tempted, but watching the Cubs in the playoffs is even more rare than the chance to taste Pillar Rock.

SFWine, Heh heh heh. I'm going to have to think about this as I'll need to go home and change and then come back to the city. So I'm not sure yet.

I wish they had something like this here in So. Cal
$300 is high but.... I thought that it would be higher. Not too often we can try some of those great wine.

Publicity? I hadn't heard anything.

As it turns out they focused their marketing efforts on the usual suspects of charitable donors rather than winegeeks. Because the tent was not filled to the rim with winegeeks, it was a good tasting to attend. Virtually no wait to taste. The organizers however are going to need to do a little more work next year on logistics etc.
