Each year I compile all the Aussie reds that have been sold throughout the year and do a tasting of them. Below the overall notes that I wrote.
The entrance requires the wine to still be available at the time of the tasting. Held over the last two days. Ironically it coincided with the NZ trade fair . On the Panel- me, and two wine makers (ironically one Aussie winemaker.). I suffered severe palate fatigue after this tasting of tannin monsters. top 13 have notes, then the next seven or so I've just scored only ( I got tired of typing and had some other work to do- bugger it!). The rest I wouldn't recommend anyway. There were about eighty odd wines.
All wines tasted out of ISO at room temperature -about 15 degree celsius. All wines tasted blind. scoring is the average of the three.
