5th Annual Chalone Appellation Pinnacles Wine Festival Saturday, April 26, 2008 11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The Chalone Appellation displays many unique features consisting of jagged volcanic rock emerging at the Pinnacles, rolling green vineyards, and bright limestone soils. While the location is extreme, the resulting wines from the area are lush, concentrated and have a distinctive mineral taste. All these factors have led wine-lovers to the Chalone Appellation for over thirty years. The Pinnacles Wine Festival was established to remember and celebrate over thirty years of winemaking success stories from Chalone Appellation. From a strong showing in the Paris tasting to a string of 90+ point scores of recent memory, Chalone Appellation has been consistently outperforming other wine-growing regions. On Saturday, April 26, food and wine lovers are invited to experience a one-of-a-kind tasting experience, and the opportunity to gain a unique perspective on wines produced from the Chalone Appellation. Wines from 15 winemakers will be paired with hors d'oeuvres prepared by Monterey County's finest, world-class chefs.
