| Has anyone ever been to this event? I don't need much of an excuse to go to SLO/PR for the weekend and this sounds like a great opportunity. Any advice appreciated. http://www.hospicedurhone.org/ | | |

| The Mrs. and I were just talking about this last night ... seems to be on my birthday weekend so we may actually go this year.

| I'm scheduled to go. Not likely to pour, I don't think I'll have any wine left, but at least to have dinner with Larry Roberts and Casey Hartlip.
There's a chance guys that we'll have Casey over to the house in San Jose on the 2nd or 3rd, if he's up for an event I'll put something together with his wines from Eaglepoint Ranch and my stuff. I might be able to convince Bradley Brown to stop by too and do a Syrah themed thing. | | Paul Romero - Owner/Winemaker Stefania Wine www.stefaniawine.com

| We're considering HdR this year as well. Haven't purchased any tickets yet, though it looks like everything but Rhone n Bowl is still available. What ticket packages do most folks buy -- the expensive weekend passes or do you select a la carte? And what are the not to miss events this year? Is it urgent to try to book a hotel room this far out, and if so where would you recommend?
Any experienced sage advice on having a great first HdR would be greatly appreciated!! TIA.

| I buy the weekend pass, because I enjoy most of the seminars and, for me, they're part of the whole experience. It has gotten expensive, although no price increase this year. The seminars haven't yet been announced, so you may want to wait to see the lineup (there are rumors that RP will lead a seminar, dunno). The seminars are all-or-nothing, can't buy tickets to them individually Many of my local friends just go a al carte and attend the two afternoon tastings. You should definitely try to book rooms. The Paso area has a shortage of rooms during big events and many of the hotels/motels are already booked.
