| | I might consider it. Any interest in putting together a group of Northern California VC folks to bid on a lot or two? (Lots appear to be five cases.) | | | |

| | If you are looking for a consortium of 10 that would each get 6 bottles of something unique, not generally available and "hand-picked" by the knowledgeable palates of VC members in attendance, I could be pursuaded. | | | Beta testing a new signature. | |

| I'm going to be at the tasting and would be interested in participating in a group bid as well (in fact I have already been scheming as to how to justify a personal five case bid myself to my wife just in case I taste a top flight Pinot that I don't want to miss so a group bid may save me from myself).
From the 2005 Pinots I've tasted from barrel already (a limited amount so far unfortunately) I suspect there will be some very fine wines available. Note producers like Radio-Coteau and Kosta Browne are participating in the barrel auction.

I noticed that. Hence my "hand-picked" comment. I suspect that if a VC contingent materializes, the targeted lots might gravitate toward that direction. | | | Beta testing a new signature.

| | You are probably right about that direction but you never can tell at these kinds of auctions. Sometimes a less heralded producer surprises you. | | | |

| I do not want to buy anything! I don't even want to think about buying something! I can't afford to buy anything! I will not buy anything... ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` unless you need one more person.
Actually I think I will hate you if you left me out!

| | By my count that gets us to six interested/potentially interested people. I'm interested in more than six bottles so even if we don't get to ten people this might still be doable. The primary question that needs to be answered is what is the top dollar price per bottle that people are willing to pay for the given wine in question. Note the wines will be "bottled with the distinctive Hospices of Sonoma wine label, which includes a cuvee name designated by the buyer". | | | |

| And there is no requirement that the wine be allocated among us evenly. If some people want more bottles than others, that can easily be arranged.
Very cool that winners get to add a name to their wine. | | | Beta testing a new signature.

| | That's absolutely right Jimmy. For example, any wine we bid on I'm happy to take a case of from the lot. | | | |

| Any idea of what $ range we're talking here ? I'd love to get in on this for some bottles, but I've been to a few charity wine auctions, and I don't want to be part of a group written up in the WS for their great support of the Hospices | | | |

| | That's a question that all of the interested parties need to answer. Obviously the ultimate bid decision depends on the wine's quality but all of us need to agree to a top end figure that we are willing to pay. | | | |

| | According to the website the inaugural event features 24 producers donating 1/2 barrel each (about 10 cases). The event raised $200K. So on average that is $8,333/lot. If the lots were 10 cases then this comes to about $70/bottle. Obivously some of the lots probably fetched much more than this and some less. If there was only 5 cases then double the bottle price. | | | |
