| Come spend the day with some of the most exciting growers in Austria and Germany as Terry Theise will be stopping by with 10 of his producers on Saturday Jan 21st in San Francisco. The tasting will be held at restaurant Coco 500 at the corner of 4th st and Brannan just across from our SF store. Growers anticipated to present their wines, and I say anticipated as they will be in Las Vegas the night before, are as follows: From Austria, Maria Angeles Hiedler of Weingut Hiedler, Gertrud Salomon of Salomon Undhof, Heidi Schrock, Leo Alzinger of Weingut Alzinger, Thomas Klinger of Weingut Brundlemayer. From Germany: Caroline Diel of Schlossgut Diel, Martin Kerpen of Weingut Kerpen, Johannes Leitz of Weingut Josef Leitz, Stefan Rumpf of Kruger-Rumpf, Johannes Selbach of Weingut Selbach-Oster, Andreas Spreitzer of Weingut Spreitzer and possibly a few more. In addition to the producers wines we will be pouring wines from Schloss Gobelsburg, Dönnhoff , Muller-Catoir, Alfred Merkelbach, Carl Schmitt Wagner, Wagner-Stempel and more!! The Tasting will begin promptly at noon, and we will be pouring until 3 pm in a casual walk around style with small bites prepared by the kitchen. All cancellations must be made 72 hours before the event to be guaranteed your money back.

| | I have to check, but I believe this will be making a stop in Washington DC as well via the Smithsonian Resident Associates program. Might be my chance to taste some Rieslings finally, eh? | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| | Yes, I think the Riedel Somm Sauterne glass is the glass for German Rieslings at the Spatlese level and higher (Riedel even recommends it for Auslese and higher). | | | |

You promise you won't break mine if I bring one. After all you have already broken three of my Sauternes Somms.

I'm calling BS. They were already broken in the #$%^ing box. I've never broken a Somm Sauterne glass.

If you would have stopped resting cases on the box then the glasses wouldn't have been broken when I opened the box!

| Just a thought...
Would anyone like to go for a casual off-line after the tasting?
Whiner has a place called "A Taste of the Himalayas" that might be a nice place to have an early dinner and the food would be perfect for more of what we will have tasted earlier.
By an early dinner I mean like 4:30, maybe 5:00.
Here is Whiner's thread onHimalaya .

| | I'm interested, and very possibly could attend. I recently picked up a bunch of 2003 J.J. Christoffel from Premier Cru and so am well stocked for such an event. | | http://www.sweetandsourspectator.org | |

| | Just don't mention what you bought when you're within earshot of Terry ... or DO, and report back his thoughts on the situation. I bet he doesn't appreciate it. | | Cheers, y'all | |
