On Saturday April 26 2003,
The Rhone Rangers will put on the
6th Annual Rhone Ranger Wine Tasting, where over 150 Rhone Ranger Wineries will be pouring barrel samples, new releases, and library samples of American Rhone-style wines. New this year is an educational seminar and the
Rhone Star Bar, an in depth, educational tasting within the tasting. There will also be food provided by artisan Bay Area perveyors and a silent auction!
At this point, the organization is still in need of volunteers for several positions. Benefits of volunteering include free admission to the event, access to the
trade-only portion of the tasting, and the opportunity to have a great time helping out with a group of fellow wine enthusiasts! You need not be a member of the Rhone Rangers to volunteer, though it is encouraged (hey, Teri and I are leading the
membership and sales desk this year, I gotta throw in a plug!). Membership is $30/individual and $35/couple.
Event times are as follows:
Seminar: 11:00AM - 12:00PM
Media & Trade: 12:00 - 2:00PM
General Admission: 2:00 - 5:00PM
Advance ticket price is $45 ($35 if you are a member) and $55 day of the event. Seminar & Tasting price is $70 advance - $80 day of the event, if available. Tickets are available through
Acteva and the Fort Mason Box Office at 415-345-7575.
If you are interested in volunteering, drop me a Private Message and I'll get you in touch with the volunteer coordinator. Otherwise, I hope some of you can make it to the tasting! And if you do, be sure to stop by the membership desk and say hello!
