I'm only going to leave this thread up for about a week.
To all concerned:
I don't want to make a big deal out of this.... but:
Just a note on using VinoCellar as a "Press Pass" to get into events..........
Currently, doing such a thing is reserved for Myself and Moderators of this site. I really don't feel it's a great idea to have 30 or 40 people trouncing around as part of "The Media" when in truth, if anyone from the media came to check up on anyone here at the board, they'd find out it wasn't true fairly quickly and VinoCellar.com would be potentially blacklisted. I'd rather not risk that.
So I offer to you this compromise. If there is a media event that you'd like to attend as a VinoCellar.com representative, message me privately. If there will be no moderators from this site attending the event, we may give you permission to use our name and attend the event under our umbrella at our convenience. This doesn't mean we absolutely will let you however. (Please note: I'm going to look into any legality issues if their are any, so this whole idea may change drastically or become non-existant)
There is a catch however, but one we can both benefit from. If you do end up going to an event as a VinoCellar.com representative the following must happen (some of which doesn't need to be said but I'll say it anyway)
1) You must purchase at our cost the number of business cards you intend to hand out at the event. I will mail them to you, postage paid. (honestly, the cost of business cards is negligible, but since VC.com isn't making money at the moment..... you get the picture)
2) At the event you will be essentially working for VinoCellar.com. You must act official, take notes, and report back with an article about the event that will be posted on our page and linked to a forum topic. Of course whoever writes the article will get full credit for it. If you do well, we'd love to have you do more..... (just don't suck)

3) Bring a camera, take pictures! You know about me and my love of pictures... something that will be implemented on this site as soon as I can get the programming done, is to have lots of pictures with every article.
4) While representing VinoCellar.com you will not in any way be negative about our site, or any other wine site, or in fact anything else. We'd like to be a leader in the game of professionalism.
5) Anything else you can think of that will positively effect this site. Talk about it, talk it up, hand out the cards, get new members, get winemakers to agree to do a Winery Spotlight (they are free!)
6) Ok, now that I've laid down the hammer, I have one last rule. Have fun!!! Have fun at the event, have fun respresenting VinoCellar.com and enjoy yourself..... just make sure to ask permission first before becoming the rogue VC.com warrior.
Lastly, I'm not making a big deal out of this, just trying to cover my bases, and give priority to the moderators of this site who have given a lot of personal time and energy into this site.
So if it works out, I'd also love for the VC.com community to benefit in any way possible as well. We'll work it out, whatever it is.
Best Regards,
Brad Molzen (Revlis of course)
p.s. I reserve the right to change my mind or change without warning any of the above "rules," based on what I come up with in my research of the issue.
