Saturday November 10, 2004. Cost: $ 80. Where: San Francisco - Fort Mason, Firehouse Room Syrah is emerging as a powerful varietal in the US. The beauty of the varietal, in my opinion, is the breadth of styles being produced in California and Washington. You can find everything from cool weather styles from the Central Coast and Washington to high fruit, extracted Aussie styles from Napa. 2001 was a warm year and the vintage produced rich and concentrated wines. How did it go from SATURDAY November 10 to Thursday November 11???? Too many wine events in the fall. Wife is starting to get that "don't even think it" look
