| It's actually on the other side of the Valley. It's east of the Silverado Trail in St. Helena.www.meadowood.com
I think the dining room is open to the public.

| | Thanks for the link. Not the place I thought but I'm glad Vincent Nattress has such a nice venue to practice his craft in. Hope to make it there. | | Joe ----- Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. | |

MAJOR NEWS!!!! Vincent Nattress, former owner and chef at Roux Restaurant in St. Helena is going to Meadowood to take over both restaurants. This is great news. In addition to being able to enjoy Vincent's world class cooking again, Meadowood does not charge corkage to members. Can we say offline? (No comments about hot tubs, please)
When when when?
Hopefully certainly by April 2005 (when I hope to be in CA wine country next) | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com

| TJ- The way chefs come and go he might be gone by then. You better get out here sooner. I am down for a TJ offline, and no that is not Tijuana (sp?) Mexico although that would be interesting. | | "Everyday is worthy of a glass of sparkling wine" - Andrea Immer MS | |

| That is great news! I enjoyed the atmosphere at Meadowood.
I have the Roux Menu from the night I dined there signed by Vincent in my Kitchen next to my menu from the French Laundry signed by Thomas Keller --- great Kitchen art!

| billyboy, welcome!
I think that Pinot Blanc is a restaurant in transition. While the food can be good, it is often hit-or-miss. Same is true with the service. There are some very good people there, but also some who are, shall we say, inexperienced.
The wine list, while full of gems, shows signs of lack of turnover, which is not so good for those wines that should be enjoyed young.
I am eternally hopeful - it is the restaurant closest to my house (not counting A&W, of course)

| Thank you very much for your posts and kind welcome.... we will descend on the valley in a couple of weeks.... my first trip out there since... hmmmmm.... gulp.... last May? Been too long.
We're having dinner at La Toque and Martini House.... and I think the third night, I'm starting to settle on Pere Jeanty.

| I'd skip on Pere Jeanty.
If you're up in the St Helena area... might as well drive up to Calistoga and check out All Seasons Bistro. Won't be disappointed at all.

| | I agree with dj. Skip Pere Jeanty... just an average if that dining experience. Go down the street of Bistro Jeanty. Great food, good list and lots of fun. | | | |

| | I agree with DJ and David skip Pere Jeanty. I'd skip All Seasons as well. Terra is my first choice. | | | |
