| Rum Jungle - I might die there by myself.
Doubt I'll do Delmonico 2 nights in a row. Although...

| | I believe several nicer places that have bars will allow you to eat at the bar. I know for a fact Aureole will do that because I've seen people doing so. I believe Bradley Ogden might even allow it. | | Joe ----- Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. | |

| i concur on the bar at Aureole as i have actually done it. also has a cool view of the "wine angel" going up and down the wine cellar to retrieve bottles ordered from dining guests and the wine menu is very cool as well, all computer.
you could also set up a small tasting with some people from the vegas area if you could find any from this site ????
have a great time | | | |

| The bar at Aureole is an intriguing prospect. I'm taking 3 bottles with me:
'00 Bressler '00 Foley Claret '77 Taylor
I expect I'll open the Taylor and one of the others at Delmonico and save the other for dinner Friday.

| | i'd do the foley at delmonico. being there is 2 of you you will have more time for it to open up. the bressler will be ready to go quickly. | | | |

| | I forgot about Bradley Ogden. They actually have a counter area (like a soda fountain) where one can eat. | | | |

| i will be in vegas for 5 days starting this thursday.......going to delmonico next monday i guess i will be taking: 01' bressler and one other bottle that night. any suggestion to where else we can go for dinner that is not too $$ since i have to pay for large group everynight (party of +/- 10) tab at delmonico is going to cost $$$ | | | |

| | i liked the new joe's steakhouse in the forum shops. not sure about price of wine but the food was good and it was cheaper than delmonico. the palm would be another good place. | | | |

Unfortunately, no.
Any wine shop on the strip, such as 55 Deg at Mandalay Bay and The Wine Cellar at the Rio, sell their wine at Vegas restaraunt prices.

| I just stoped by the Cellar at the Rio this past weekend, skip it, I think they are liquidating their inventory. Lee's Liquor on Lake Mead Blvd or the location on Flamingo isn't too far. I've picked up a few decent buys at the Lake Mead location, kind of a BevMo inventory but a few things to tempt you. | | | |

| PE,
the cellar at the rio has been on a serious decline for years. especially since they changed ownership. i don't even bother stopping in anymore.

| My wife and I enjoyed Pinot Brasserie and Bouchon at the Venetian in April. I've heard that Pinot Brasserie does not charge corkage, but this is unconfirmed.
We thought Auerole was incredibly overpriced. The "angel" in the cat suit might be interesting to watch if you're stag and drinking by yourself.
We did stop at the Rio for a flight, which wasn't bad except they seem to be promoting the place as a cigar bar. If you go, find the most out of the way table where you won't be covered in cigar and cigarette smoke.
The Las Vegas Wine Company has a small but interesting refrigerated section at the location that's west of the strip.
Enjoy. | | TN posted on Cellartracker "I drink no more than a sponge." François Rabelais www.tanglenet.com

| yes-that is correct
no corkage at Pinot Brasserie
on the rio wine cellar the only flight i found interesting was the vintage port tasting which had the 1977 Taylors substituted for the '77 Grahams along with the '85 grahams and the '63 quinta do noval
not bad but a little pricey at around $65 with some cheese and nuts.
oh well | | | |

| Returned home from 4 nights in Vegas. We stayed at "The Hotel" at Mandalay Bay, it's all suites. Coolest room we've ever had in Vegas, beats both the Bellagio and the Venetian and for the same price. The only down side is it's location, we took many taxi's. However great hotel, no problems during our stay. We will stay there again. Jet-lag day we had dinner at the Burger Bar, between Manadalay Bay and the Luxor. It's run by Hubert Keller of Fleur de Lys. Huge black angus burgers, you pick from a large list of toppings for about $12. Passed on the $60 Kobie burger. Next night we really enjoyed our Dinner at Mix. Mix is on the 64th floor of "The Hotel". The food was an 8 and the view was a 10++. You can have dinner inside or out, I recommend outside overlooking the stip from 64 floors up, fantastic. We brought a 1999 Abreu, a mountain of a wine, (great description huh) Mix also has a club, it gets rocking about 1am. It too has an outside area to have drinks way up there overlooking the lights of the stip. Highly recommend both. Then something we always enjoy, dinner around 8:30 at Mon Ami Gabi which is at the Paris hotel. It's across the street from the Bellagio water show. The food is always good, coupled with the lighted water show view, a great couple of hours. The best for last, Delmonico's - Wonderful !! must have dinner !!! Our best of Vegas "was" Bradley Ogden, we've been there three times and loved the food, but our last visit the staff was very "stuck" lets just stop at that, now it's off our list completly. Delmonico's, this was our fourth time and our new best of Vegas dinner. This visit was as good as ever. My wife just dies for the barbeque shrimp followed by the rib eye. I had the lamb this time -super. We brought a 1997 David Arthur 1147. Very good wine, we always seem to smile and think about our visits with David, he's a blast. | | | |
