Fred,

I suffered a real tease yesterday.

I flew from MEM to SLC (where there was no snow, but a nasty climactic inversion that obliterates the otherwise-gorgeous views), and we then retired to the mountains for dinner. We drove up to Solitude and had our dinner there (great service, poor wine list). We had some 3' of snow at the parking lot and obviously more snow up the mountain, but I had to leave before strapping on the slats.

Twenty four hours later, I'm back in Memphis. I never did get a chance to ski, but I'm starting to develop a real need to do so. Aaaarrrggghhh! I'll hit the slopes sooner or later!

A frustrated ski nut,

Steve

Cheers, y'all

Where the anyone on the street look like wool-covered popsicles. It is amazingly cold with the wind whistling through the buildings. Brrrrr.

Greetings from the Cliff Lodge at Snowbird, Utah.

As I tip the can of Heineken, I really wish I hadn't forgotten to bring wine.

Ditto sir. It was a great weekend in the Big Apple other than the numbing cold.

Keep smiling in Napa, then enjoy yourself back home on the frozen tundra with the caribou.
