I've got one night on a business trip in July. Any "must try" places?

There is a thread re Miami hot spots.

Depending where you will be, I'd then be able to direct you.

What are your food preferences??

I'd try
Nobu Miami Beach
Norman's Coral Gables
The Forge Miami Beach
Touch Miami Beach Morrocan
Rest St Michel Coral Gables

Short cab rides ⎛ minutes]

I would try in this order. Call ahead for reservations
Norman's Coral Gables 305-446-6767
The Forge Miami Beach 305-538-8533
Rest St Michel Coral Gables 305-446-6572
Chef Allen Aventura also good 305-935-2900 [about 20 minute ride]

Nobu Miami Beach

Touch Miami Beach Morrocan

IMHO, there is nothing worth while downtown Miami.

Do NOT check anything valuable including wine...Miami International is notorious for luggage theft

These are great recommendations. Let me ad one to the list: Casa Tua in Miami Beach. (Italian) This will give Normans a najor challenge for best restaurant in Miami. Let me know if I can be of any help.

Well, I'll be there Monday now (trip changed dates) and can't wait. Just wish the trip was longer.

I am staying at Doral for two nights this weekend. First time in Miami. Any good restaurants nearby? Any BYO? Nightlife?
Thanks.

Contact Emilio on the WS Board as he lives in Doral. What are you looking for? It is not a nightlife hot-bed, but you are not far from South Beach, which is.

Is Norman's still open? I had just read that he was selling it.
Pretty close to you are Graziano's (Argentine steak-house) and Graziano's Next Door, casual pizza with a retail wine store. Both of which are favorites of Emilio.

We have not been going to Miami to dine much of late.

Ortanique on the Mile in Coral Gables. Awesome food, great wine list. $15 corking fee. I highly recommend this place.

MLV and I had a terrible experience at Ortanique and I will never return. However, everyone else seems to enjoy it.
