Anyone been to tours and tastings at Staglin, Saddleback or Sherwin Family ? How were they and would you recommend ?

Saddle back is pretty laid back. You do have to make an appointment.

Their winery is in a small warehous building on Money Rd. It is just off of Oakville Cross. You go north on Money. If you went south you would be at Silver Oak's parking lot.

You taste standing in the barrel room. Nothing fancy at all. They just pull out a couple of bottles and pour. 99% of the time there are no other visitors at the time. The small staff is very friendly.

It is very different. Very intimate. I would recommend it. You gotta like tannin.

I've been to a tasting at Staglin recently and enjoyed it very much. The entire winery is under a hill and the tasting is done at a long, elegant table surrounded by the barrels and wine cellars.

The wines aren't too shabby either.

P.S. Staglin does require an appointment. During part of the tasting you are given a short tour of the whole winery, since it's small.
