I am looking @ this resort.  But, how is the island in general?  And, any other resorts to consider/recommend?

Thanks as always!

Been there lots and will be there next weekend. Stayed at both of these places as well as the Hilton and Marriott. There is also a best western on Blue Bay and I think you can rent houses by the week. Incredible beaches, diving, and snorkeling. A nice collection of restaurants, but not much in the way of wine selections.

The Kura Hulanda is a recreated Dutch Village in the downtown/marina area and not on the beach. It's very nice, but I didn't like being away from the beach. Worth visiting on a day trip when you hit downtown for shipping. Also has some nice restaurants.

The lodge is at the end of the island, which is about a 45 minute drive from Willemstad. They only have one place to eat out there and it can get old quick. The drive into town at night to hit restaurants can get old. If you stay there get a ocean view room. Incredible beach here, but you can also visit the beach without being a guest.

Hilton is a little older, but they have recently redone the rooms. Nice beach and laid back atmosphere. Restaurants not that great. Close to town.

Marriott is probably my favorite place to stay. New, nice, good restaurants, and close to town. Nice beach, right next door to Hilton.

Best Western in Blue Bay just recently remodeled and they vastly improved the beach. used to be a rocky waste land, but they brought in a lot of sand. Have a friend who lives there and he loves the beach now. Also right on the golf course. if the best western places are like the monthly rental places he stays in, I would recommend it.

If you want tips on beaches to hit, restaurants, etc, just let me know.
