Mrs. T and I will be heading to a wedding in Miami in about a month and are looking for restaurant recommendations. Any suggestions? TIA, T-Rep

In Miami - North 110 great place on Biscayne and 110th Street
- highest recommendation

Alta Mar on Lincoln Road was good the one time we went and Corkage was low
Caffe Da Vinci in Bay Harbo is also good and has low corkage

Don't get to South Beach much; too overpriced and annoying.

In Fort Lauderdale - Hi-Life Cafe, Cafe Seville

John

If you do a search for Miami & FL in the travel section, you should find many notes as to where to eat.

welcome to the boards

MLV...

Now that's a tempting thought. I'll have to check with Mrs. T to see what nights are open for dinner but we're scheduled to be in Miami from April 12-16 at the Inter-Continental Miami...

Why are you staying there? Decent hotel but in the middle of the business area of downtown and not exactly a prime vacation location - Downtown Miami is not a particularly fun place to be -

JC...

I agree that the Inter-Continental isn't exactly the best place to be to for anything other than a business trip, but the wedding ceremony and reception that we'll be attending are on a dinner cruise boat on Biscayne Bay so there's a room block at the hotel due to it's proximity to the boat. Not my first choice of places to stay in Miami but I used to work with Inter-Continental and still know some of the folks at that hotel and therefore got a great rate that we couldn't pass up.

Kimber... Where is Nobu? Miami, Miami Beach, South Beach....I've eaten at Next Door Nobu in NYC and at Sandy Lane in Barbados when Nobu, I think from their Miami outpost, was guest cheffing, if that's a word. Great food. And eating there would keep up with the DC Cru's doing Japanese with champagne and/or burgundy! T-Rep

Its in South Beach Rich - Personally I would avoid it if I were you - Nothing against it, just it is an outpost - If I was in Miami for a limited time I would try to go to Miami-centric restaurants not branches of NY restaurants -

We went to a great rib joint - it's a little shack and people line up outside.  I think it was Shorty's.
