| I'm curious as to what is considered the "best" restaurant in Vegas? I'm going for a wedding in March and wanted to hit a killer place while I'm there.

let me know what you think....i was very disappointed. food was just ok for the $$$ and too much attitude imo

There is so much already posted here on Vegas dining, I could read about it for days. And if I wanted to spend a HUGE amount of money, I'd love to come in for a long weekend and try them all. Heck, I think you could get some pretty good meals and never leave the Wynn! | | | |

| The only way IMO to get a fantastic meal in Las Vegas is to know someone at the restaurant. My two best connections are at Picasso and Delmonico's. Picasso is a great restaurant anyway but it can be AGAIG with a connection. Delmonico's receives mixed reviews but when I go there it is always ultra-fantastic.

My fiance has been to the bar at Joël Robuchon and says it is fantastic. The wine prices are insane though and they do not allow corkage (Guy Savoy allows two bottles and they can't be on the list). | | | |

| I think most people would say Picasso is the best in town.
Joël Robuchon would probably be next.
The local food critic is a big fan of Gus Savoy.
You probably can't go wrong with any of those mentioned, it's just a matter of taste and how much you're willing to spend. | | | |

You would not go to Picasso a second time?
It is one of the most beautiful, spacious dining rooms on the strip. There isn't a bad table in the place. The food is five-star and the price is actually pretty reasonable. Get to know them and there is no problem with corkage. They have one of the best wine lists on the strip and at least by Vegas standards isn't all that expensive. They will do special request dishes or changes in the menu for you with no hassle. The staff is one of the most professional and most friendly on the strip. And besides Elvis lives in the Men's Room there. | | | |

| I hate to be on the party-pooper bus but I am noticing a trend. I have been going to Vegas approximately 8x a year for many years thus, I consider myself very informed and well seasoned as per Vegas dining and accommodations. Many big name restauarants are just slacking IMO-- and I think chasing the big buck and greed are at the heart of this....isn't it always!
I can expound but let me just give this example-- I am currently, as I type this, sitting in a suite at the Venetian. This place is a zoo! We just waited 1 hour for room service of coffee and a danish, usually a 20 minute wait but a huge investment conference is in town so Vegas is brimming with a myriad of dark blue suits.
We went to Delmonico's Sunday night, I love Delmonico's. We have a great captain, waives corkage, I tip him well. He was unavailable as he was serving a private party at another property. We were rushed, (churn and burn, lots of suits waiting), the food was sub-par, the steak was unacceptable, and I am THE LAST person to complain about steak, beef jerkey is still in the realm of acceptable but this was a blatant travesty. And I have a tough time complaining. Everything tasted weird, the skillet browned potatoes, tasted burnt. The Spinach was, I don't know....runny and bland. The steak was tough, and my husband was picking gristle out of every bite of his Bone -in rib eye.
I would not even post this but this is the 3rd time I have been disappointed with Delmonico's. And I could go on, but let me just say, I have dined enough in Vegas to say this is not an isolted incident.
However, went to Lotus of Siam last night...packed but super-super YUM!
Looking to go off strip more and more....pretty bad when you have to pass up a comp'd meal to have a truly satisfactory dining experience. | | | |

I'm having more hit and miss experiences with restaurants that I'd normally have only hits and better luck off the strip as of late. One point PE makes I think is critical...it seems to be at times when the restaurants are stretched.
