So when I land at Tokyo's Narita airport, I've got 5 hours to kill before my connection. Anyone been here and have any ideas?

You can shop, eat and cruise the Internet. They have some computers your can rent for 15 minute increments or so.

Mostly, stretch your legs, it's a long flight ahead.

"Duty free" shops are not much to write home about. If you don't have much hand luggage, and adventurous type, I'd hop on the train and go to the Central Station and just walk around for 90 minutes. 50 mins from Narita to Central Station. You'll have Tokyo under your belt.

The first class lounge there has the coolest beer pouring (Saporro) I've ever seen!

We had 5 hours also, and were bored to death! Only thing we found was this interesting Pizza place -- They had a corn pizza... and a sign in the window that said, "We are waiting for you coming" Became the joke of the trip...

Seriously, I can't wait to go back. I love Japan. Have a great time!

Beer pouring machine, that is. Really wish that edit timeout feature would go away.

Best bet after 12 or so hours flying is to just walk around and stretch your legs. Narita is little more than a single runway with a gazillion 747's parked around a central bldg. Depending on your destination and its cuisine, you might want to down a bowl of pasta with red sauce at NRT on the way home. And if you're flying up front, the first class lounges for some airlines at least do have wireless, nice open bars, and a decent array of fresh foods. And of course you can pass through customs, get your passport stamped again, and pick up some cubans to smoke with me when you connect through Denver on the way home !!!

Narita was pretty boring. Grabbed some food and tried to relax a bit. Didn't want to sleep for fear of missing my plane or getting my bag stolen.
