Been there and enjoyed it. Ask the waiter or somm for a tour of the wine cellar. Don't bother with reserving the upstairs for dessert. If you have an appetizer and a steak, you won't need or want it. Impressive wine list at fair prices.

I was there many years ago before the old man died. While the food was ok upper end steakhouse, the wine list was amazing. I had a '55 La Mission Haut Brion for $350. The decor is early 1900's Bordello (think, crushed red velvet) and you went upstairs to enjoy dessert in half-cut old foudres.

No guarantees where they are today but I'd take a gamble.

Anywhere else in the Tampa area that's worth recommending? We're visiting next week (21st-24th); we'll definitely hit Berns, and maybe head up to Tarpon Springs for Greek food.

For the life of me I 'm brain dead this a.m. There is a fantastic Italian resturant on Dale Mabry, just south of Kennedy. This its Malio's. Great food, great service. They even do special orders.

Edward, you don't know how happy this makes me. The Italian food here in Hickville (save that of my owncucina ) is pretty bad. We'll definitely hit this one.

This is Malios: Its listed as a steak house but has good Italian food
Malios 301 South Dale Mabry Highway,

For straight Italian go to
Donatello 232 N. Dale Mabry Hwy.

about 5 years ago I spent many weeks in Tampa working.

PS: If you follow Burt Reynolds, he maried the hostess from Malio's

Made it last night. Wow. Just wow.

Goit the kitchen and wine cellar tour, then upstairs to the dessert room. I really liked the idea of the dessert room with its little cabins, personalized music, and ridiculous after-dinner drink menu.

Went into B-21 last night. Nice selection of both wine and hard liquor. I inquired about case discounts and they weren't so receptive. I need to save my 20%! If we actually move here, I'll push the issue a little more.
