OK. I'll admit it. I'm trying to save myself the time and expense of making a half dozen or so long distance calls. But what the hey! Can anyone tell me whether the following restaurants permit BYO, and if so, is it priced so as to discourage the practice, (a la Trotter and French Laundry).

1. Bistro Jeanty
2. Domaine Chandon (Is it tacky to bring wine to a winery's rsetaurant?)
3. Mustards
4. La Toque
5. Pinot Blanc
6. Terra
7. Martini House

TIA all.

Bistro Jeanty - yes, no corkage fee
Pinot Blanc - yes, just dropped their corkage fee
Martini House - dunno, but considering the wine list here, I wouldn't bother

1. Bistro Jeanty (They must like Eric because we paid $20 the last time we were there)
2. Domaine Chandon Is it tacky to bring wine to a winery's restaurant? Yes
4. La Toque I am not sure but I want to say $35
6. Terra $20
7. Martini House $15

Jones, regarding Bistro Jeanty, I was going by what others had said so I could well be mistaken on this point.

Or maybe they just did not like the look of us. One can never really know.

WRT Domaine Chandon - I have heard them tell people over the phone that they are welcome to bring wine. The last time we were there, Eric the chef came out to try one of the wines we had brought. But, maybe I'm tacky.

Martini House never comps corkage, nor does Terra. Many of the others will do something, especially if you also buy a bottle.

We avoid La Toque as the (service * consistant food quality)/price is way, way too low.

The last time we were at Bistro Jeanty there was no corkage. Of course we shared with the server.

At Martini House also no corkage but we alwalys buy some good stuff off the list at the same time plus I always "shoot the moon" there. I think there wine list is great with some library or hard-to-get stuff below the going retail price. Ask the som, Lisa, for help.

here is an interesting new write up oncorkage policies in the Napa Valley. It talks a little bit on wine pricing and gives a list of many of the restaurants and their corkage fees.
