I need to plan a weekend trip to the Loire. I've never been there, and we'll just be visiting for a weekend. If anyone has some suggestions for a great place to stay, visit, or eat - that will be much appreciated.

We stayed at Jean Bardet (that may be the name of restauerant not the inn) in Tours and it was fantastic. I have to find the name of the restaurants, but we had a few great meals while we were there, including at an excellent cheese and fondue spot called Le Souris Gourmande or something like that.

The only winery we hit was Prince Ponioakowski's, in Vouvray but we had a great time there and I would highly recommend it.

FWIW I liked the area araund Samur but nothing there sticks out as a 'must hit'
I can't listen to that much Wagner. I start getting the urge to conquer Poland.
