| | DAMN!! I just walked by Roux last week and told my fiance that we needed to go there in a few weeks. The restaurant business is very tough without serious capital for the slow times. And we all have slow times. | | "Everyday is worthy of a glass of sparkling wine" - Andrea Immer MS | |

| | Chef Eric Torralba, who until recently was at Domain Chandon, will be opening a high end restaurant there. We had a few meals at Chandon where he "cooked for us", and the results were spectacular. | | | |

| I learned this evening that the old Catahoula restaurant in Calistoga has now been purchased by the owner of Bistro 45 in Pasadena. Should be opening in March.
Can anyone comment on Bistro 45?

| | I believe that Vincent plans to honor all his commitments. I was also pleased to hear that the restaurant community seems to be scrambling around trying to come up with something appropriate. Let's hope. | | | |

Loved the smores. | | "Everyday is worthy of a glass of sparkling wine" - Andrea Immer MS

| What are a couple of good dinner spots in or near Calistoga? Is the Bistro 45 open yet or soon? Planning trip in May and could use some help. Thank you. | | | |

| Suffice to say... in Calistoga the pickings are slim for dining. All Seasons Bistro is your best bet... stay away from Brannans... place is pretty subpar... imo. For lunch I love goin to the mexican joint by the grocery store called Tacqueria Puerto Vallarta... I do drive 40 minutes for a burrito... and it's to that joint. It's good.
Oh and be sure to hip up that Gelato shop on the strip as well after lunch... it's pretty slamtastic.
Someone who's been to that BBQ joint of sorts needs to chime in cuz I've never been there... but have walked past it a bunch of times.

| One place that hasn't been mentioned is Cole's Chop House in Napa. Steaks better than Ruth Chris, pricey but not astronomical, and an excellent wine list. It always seems to be booked solid. If you're looking for a great piece of meat... Cole's is your place. | | | |

| | My wife and her friend just tried Cafe 29, a new place at the corner of Lodi and Highway 29. They're open for breakfast and lunch. The report is they have good breakfasts with really good crepes. Perhaps they will take some of the crowd pressure off Gilwoods in St Helena when you're looking for breakfast in the upper part of the Valley. | | Randy Sloan Match Vineyards | |
