| I learned this evening that the old Catahoula restaurant in Calistoga has now been purchased by the owner of Bistro 45 in Pasadena. Should be opening in March.

Fun American food done pretty damn good.

| Suffice to say... in Calistoga the pickings are slim for dining. All Seasons Bistro is your best bet... stay away from Brannans... place is pretty subpar... imo. For lunch I love goin to the mexican joint by the grocery store called Tacqueria Puerto Vallarta... I do drive 40 minutes for a burrito... and it's to that joint. It's good.
Oh and be sure to hip up that Gelato shop on the strip as well after lunch... it's pretty slamtastic.

| | My wife and her friend just tried Cafe 29, a new place at the corner of Lodi and Highway 29. They're open for breakfast and lunch. The report is they have good breakfasts with really good crepes. Perhaps they will take some of the crowd pressure off Gilwoods in St Helena when you're looking for breakfast in the upper part of the Valley. | |
