Probably staying at La Samanna - any restaurant suggestions? I have liked Le Santal and La Vie en Rose in past trips.

Dick - I'm jealous!
I've always wanted to go there. What's the occasion?

Dick, Le Santal is our favorite restaurant on the island. We were going to make a reservation in La Vie en Rose but walked past the kitchen and saw a grouper on the cutting board covered with flies. We just turned around and left. Our next two favorite places on the island are on the Dutch side, in Phillipsburg. They are L'Escargot and La Grenouille. The Rusty Pelican was good for some simple quickie food.

Also, one other place on the Atlantic side is supposed to be good, but we didn't go there. It's The Oyster Pond Yacht Club.
There was one place we found that we loved as much as Le Santal, but I don't remember the name. You can probably find it out when you're there from this descrition. It's in a woman's home on the industrial outskirts of Phillipsburg. She prepares dinner for a small num,ber of people three or four nights a week. Seek it out.
