Branching off a thread drift that occured in another forum, let's hear 'em - what are the best strip clubs in America?

C'mon, you've all visited one or 2 in your life. I bet even some of the women out there have opinions as well.

I'll go first with my nomination:

Platinum Plus in Memphis - the site of my bachelor party (chosen by my groomsmen) and an interesting format. If you've never been, well, you'll just have to go to find out

Scores in NY is pretty good. But, now their got too popular, too stuck up.

In NJ, a bunch that I used to go closed down. Not sure of the new clubs. I hear Lace is good (I believe the Donald owns it).

Are you talking about these places where the customers get lap dances and tons of tease? If so I have never been to one. The only one that I am slightly familiar with is The BaDaBing.

DdB, is this "travel" or "dining"?

I think the best strips are at The Red Barn in Augusta, Maine.

I don't see what you like at Platinum Plus -- all it's got (so I've heard) is overpriced beer and dozens of gorgeous naked women running around, and ... uh ... oh, I think I get it now.
Cheers, y'all

I've... uh... heard... uh... about a place in Tampa called Mons Venus which is pretty well-known. But rumor also has it that Tampa has passed a "Six Feet" law that states that the customer and dancer must remain six feet away. Can anyone confirm?

Mons Venus, Space Odyssey, and Tanga Lounge in Tampa are the greatest in the US. But, virtually any of them in Florida are awesome because of the low prices and high quality talent.

Rothko - I remember the 'law' going into effect but I understand it's not followed too closely (forgive the pun).

For a very high QPR, the Pink Pony in Atlanta is quite nice.

I wondered if any of these clubs could survive such an ordinance.

As far as what makes a club "best", do you base the opinion on the "quality" of the performer (ie: beauty) or the uh... close personal attention... you get from the performer. It appears to be the case that the places with the best-looking dancers are actually the dullest places.

--------------------

Funny story: There's a place down here called Rachel's which has a strict "Touch and Go" policy. A colleague of mine went there and as he walked in the bouncer informed him of the "Touch and Go" policy and told him that if he touched any of the girls, he'd have to go. My colleague replied by asking "Is it OK if I touch myself?"

If you're going to go with North America, aren't there some places in Tijuana that might be in the running...?

Only if you want to catch a VD upon walking in the door.

Not that I've ever been there but I hear Cheetah's in Vegas is pretty good. Same club in the movie with that skeezer from "Saved by the Bell".

Personally, I would define "best" as a club that's not too crowded, the talent level is high (bordering on incredible), the costs are reasonable ($20 for a lapdance at clubs in NYC is robbery), and the attitude is relaxed (ie you can get away with things if the dancer allows).

I'm just not a fan of the business transaction at strip clubs. Let me get this straight: I'm going to pay you good (ridiculous) money for watered-down drinks and for you to get me all worked up with no payoff at the end?

Sounds like a ripoff to me. I want more return on my investment!

It's been awhile for me. But I only care about the one golden rule.

The best strip club depends very much on the dancer in front of you, and the amount of alcohol you have had.

we have a very good one here in pgh called club erotica. the do not have a liquor license so they don't have to abide by the same rules. you pay $15 on the way in and they give you a cup. this is for all the beer you can drink. the key is they are charging you for beer and as far as the state is concerned the dancers are free entertainment so they can dance fully nude. now i don't know about you guys, but that is what i call a striop club

p.s.

iirc i ended up there the night of my bachelor party. i'm not sure how i got there or how i got home
