Two words. Anton Michel.
They are located in Carmel, and are one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. I took my girlfriend there last year for Valentines Day. Top Notch.

thanks winebrat. but i ended up with casanova's on valentine's day and the whaling station for saturday evening. again, thanks and i hope to have enough time to check out your recommendation too.
