Spent the week in Miami on business and had the pleasure of dining at three fairly nice restaurants: Nobu, Blue Door and The Forge.
Nobu: great atmosphere full of tons of beautiful people (read: plastic surgery) and some great great food. We ordered a variety of dishes, the best 2 being a rock shrimp tempura salad in a spicy lime sauce and a black cod in miso that was other-worldly. The sushi was nothing to write home about. The bar scene outside the restaurant is worth the trip. If you're not eating in the restaurant, you 'aint getting in.
I actually went on the WS site, did a search for Nobu and noticed that JB commented on the exact same 2 dishes at the NYC Nobu.
Blue Door: Madonna's restaurant. Pretty funky with nice silk white curtains hanging on all the walls from the 30ft ceilings. Gives it a classy feel. Had an very generous foie gras 'burger' appetizer and the osso bucco for the meal. By far the best osso bucco I've ever had. Others commented that the duck was amazing. The restaurant is located in the ridiculously-nice Delano hotel in South Beach. The bar by the pool has numerous beds and private 'areas' for who-knows-what.

The Forge: claims to have "the best steak in America as voted by Wine Spectator", I believe. Eight of us got the steak and rated it a 5 on a scale of 1-10. Nice restaurant but don't waste your time on the steak.
Wines consumed included the '99 Magnificat (very nice), '98 Jordan Cab (just ok), '98 Stags Leap Cab (very average) and the '99 Simi Cab (worst wine of the week despite all the hype).
Safe to say, there's no other city like Miami. Bien venido a Miami.
