| I'm pretty sure the laws are such that you can BYO into most restaurants. Not positive, however. | | | |

| Ls, We weren't too happy with the places we ate in Calgary, but I have several sightseeing pieces of advice. Two trips not to miss:
1. Go about 110 miles northeast to the town of Drumheller. On the way, you'll pass a sign saying scenic overlook to the left. Don't miss it. You'll find yourself on the rim of a magnificent canyonland with multicolored walls. You'll have no idea it's there from the road, which traverses gently rolling plains.
Just outside Drumheller is the Royal Edwin Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology. It's wonderful. The Drumheller area is the site if the richest dinosaur fossil deposits in North America.
Then continue the circular route back to Calgary and take the handdrawn ferry across the river.
2. Head west to the edge of the Rockies and take the dirt road south from the main highway. The views are great and you'll see moose and deer and maybe a bear. | | | |

| I agree Drumheller is worth a visit. We did a movie out there once, very cool museum. I do not know if I have driven the dirt road you mentioned but I have been on a few up there, stunning scenery. I am stuck in Calgary this time; our location is 40 minutes west of the city on the plains. We arrive Friday afternoon; shoot all day Saturday, fly home on Sunday. | | | |

| The only time I've ever been to Calgary was when I went to Chateau Lake Louise. I remember eating at a really good Japanese restaurant the day I left - can't remember the name of it. If I come across it in my travels through my mind, I'll share. | | | |

| I hate to be so vague, but I remember there being an excellent Thai restaurant downtown. Actually there are supposedly two (I've only eaten at one). The last time I was in town it was closed for renovations, so I had to schlep to some generic looking Chinese place. It was fantastic! I really wish i could remember the name. Sorry. Look for Thai. | | | |
