| | Probably not that good. I suck at stuff like that. What caught my eye was a Radio Coteau bottle front and center. | | Joe ----- Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. | |

That's the one that caught my eye, too!

| Well, lets see. In the first pic, the white wines in the forefront on the top with the silver capsule are 2001 Darting Reislaner - put there because the bottles are small enough to fit on top of the tube . Under that are Harrington Hirsh Pinot, then Radio Coteau, then Turley (that one looks pretty obvious to me), then Baumard QdC, then more Turley, and below that I'm not sure . | | | |

| | Yep, I noticed the Turleys as well. They kind of stand out. I thought those at the top with the smooth bluish grey capsules might be Sea Smoke. I guess I missed on those. | | Joe ----- Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. | |

| Eric,
Aren't you concerned that with a few years of age the rubber bands will weaken and break? I've noticed that rubber bands tend to only last a year or two before they start breaking down. They may appear to be ok, but when the big shaker comes, they'll snap like Mel Gibson's temper.
You might want to plan on swapping them out every year.

| | Yep, swapping them out is part of the plan. You can really feel the breakdown of the bands pretty quickly. | | | |

Ok, really tough to get a good pic in my cellar, but here goes.
First of all, I assembled the piping stucture in advance, outside the cellar, to fit in the space it was designed for. I used heavy duty PVC glue, and those easy hand clamps to hold them together. Event at 7 high, being 6-7" deep the conglomeration was increadibly sturdy, and would have stood on its against a wall.
Real pic #1 - best view of the overall install on one wall. Closer view - the purple stuff is the PVC glue that globbed out ( this solution isn't exactly purty, the way I did it) A closer-up. I used ilets to thread a thin rod through, then attached rubber bands to the rod and rapped around the bottle for earthquake bracing and yet a closer-closer up view
And this screenshot of my spreadsheet is how I tied that same wall into my tracking system, so I know where everthing is.
Hope this help!
Fascinating. I would never have thought about doing that for a wine storage system set up, Eric. Pretty kewl and looks quite functional. | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com

| My guesses:
The RC and the Sea Smoke are obvious. Actually it looks like there are at least eight Sea Smoke. Maybe a couple left-bottom row?
The Turleys have that damn lip on them. I see seven of them.
Bottom row with short red wax capsule: SQN? The two with the bigger red wax: Pax? And the two above those with the kinda purple foils: Kosta Browne? Something sweet in the four with the gold capsules just above the KB and also top right? And three Krachers just to the left of the bottom of the cooling unit.
Where's Waldo?
When the rubber band dries out you know it is time to drink it!
