I will yield to Bressler and davidn on this. They both have far more experience with the wines in your list than I do. I'd take their advice.

GFD - how did the big dinner go? Between this thread and the thread about the 6L bottle - you've got to give us an update on how it all went. I need closure . . . .

Sorry it taken me so long to get back to this. This was the lineup for the evening: First Flight 1996 Pierre Morlet 1st Cru Champagne France People lived this wine, I think very close (I did not say the same) to a 1996 Dom at half the price. Second Flight 1997 Kistler Vine Hill Vineyard Chardonnay ( A very soft and delicate wine) 2002 Frank Family Chardonnay (This was the hit of the night for whites) This wine was added at the last minute because of a recommendation of a friend. Third Flight 1998 Harlan The Maiden Cabernet Sauvignon 1996 Chateau St Jean Cinq Cepages Cabernet Sauvignon Fourth Flight 1997 Karl Lawrence Napa Cabernet Sauvignon 1997 Lokoya Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon Finished the night with Ports from Larkmead (1997) The night went by so fast (Good Friends, Good Food, and Great Wines) I did not compose Tasting notes. Both the KL and Lokoya got rave reviews from everyone there. I think the 1996 St. Jean could use some more time in the bottle. The 1998 Harlan is ready to go IMO.
