I have been reading a lot of TN's and descriptions of wine. I see descriptions of "Big" in style. Ex: Brian Loring describe one of his Pinots as medium and big in style. Can someone define style? Also, describe what is meant by light, medium and heavy. Does it pertain to structure, tannins, color, nose, and/or taste? It is varietal specific? Is it subjective? Just trying to get a grip on what is meant. Thank you in advance for your input.

Subjective? Yes, to an extent. To me, a big wine means that it is full bodied, richly textured, weighty on the palate.

I'd say your avatar is "full bodied".

Agree w/ Mountainman. W/ respect to wine, I'd generally say it refers to the intensity and concentration of a wine, especially of a particular varietal. Sort of like taking a port wine and reducing it in a sauce pan to obtain a port wine reduction sauce.
