| | Has anyone had wines from DuMol? Quite pricey Chardonnay, Pinot and Syrah ($50+) - small production. Andy Smith is winemaker. Any input would be appreciated, TIA. | | | |

| We had three of DuMol's Pinots at our tasting groups Pinot tasting a couple months back, the 1997 Dunn Ranch, 1996 Dutton Ranch, and the 2000 Finn. Most of us were quite surprised the DuMol's did not show better than they did and I was disappointed in the lineup.
The 96 Dutton showed the best out of the three, was a bit tart, medium weight, and oranges on the nose. The 2000 Finn showed the worst with a volatile nose showing chemically, nail polish aromas, and not much flavor (most likely a bad bottle however). The Dunn showed nice pinot typicity in the nose, good fruit, and fairly light body - just not terribly complex.
Not worth the price of admission, imo.

| | Eric, most of the people had the same impression about the 2000 Finn, and I agree in that it was the most volatile wine that I've ever had. However, it really came around after an hour in the glass and was very interesting. I think it was recently bottled and need some time. We had a lot of good PN's that day, so any that were not really good did not stand a chance. | | | |
